Exceeding the permitted limit values for radioactive particles

WHAT CAN YOU DO IF... YOU SUSPECT THE AMOUNT OF HARMFUL (RADIOACTIVE) PARTICLES FROM AN INDUSTRIAL PLANT EXCEEDS THE LIMIT VALUES?
According to the Air Protection Act, in cases of a citizen’s suspicion that the level of particles exceeds the permitted value, due to which people’s health and quality of life may be disrupted, the local government of the territory where the plant is located has the obligation to conduct air quality measurements by an authorized person, and thus determine whether the suspicions of citizens are justified.
1. Therefore, if you are able, collect data about the plant.
2. Write a brief statement about the incident and mark the location where the plant is located, as precisely as possible.
3. WHO TO CALL?
You can send your statement to the Environmental Inspection established at the Ministry of the Environment and Energy, and/or call the Green Phone service in your county (072 123 456).
Note: in cases of great urgency or during the weekend, holidays or at night, you can always call 112 (National Protection and Rescue Directorate) and the employee who receives your call will promptly notify the territorially competent inspection services, which will then take the necessary protective measures.
