Rehabilitation of terrain after mining exploitation

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU SUSPECT THAT A MINING ECONOMIC OPERATOR FAILED TO REHABILITATE THE TERRAIN AFTER FINISHING MINERAL RESOURCES EXPLOITATION OR FAILED TO IMPLEMENT THE SECURITY MEASURES FOR THE PREVENTION OF HAZARDS

Pursuant to the Mining Act, mining economic operators are responsible for the damage to nature and the environment caused by mining works. The latter is also required to carry out rehabilitation of the terrain after completion or permanent suspension of mining activities in the exploitation field, and to implement security measures to prevent the occurrence of danger to people, property, and the environment.
1. If possible, take pictures of or record the location of the exploitation field and collect information on the economic operator that performed the mining activities.

2. Write a short statement on the event, and mark the location of the activity as precisely as possible (using Geoportal; www.geoportal.dgu.hr; you can easily determine the exact cadastral plot).
3. WHO TO CONTACT?
Send the statement together with the photo/video documentation (if you have any) to the Mining Inspection Service of the Ministry of Economy, the Environmental Inspection Service of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, and/or to the Green Phone in your county (+385 72 123456).
